PRAYER
Prayer is our way to Peace.
It opens our hearts to the gift of Peace.
Peace is the ground we share with all people of goodwill.
We started Instruments of Peace in the year 2000, by inviting people to spend fifteen (15) minutes of the one thousand and four hundred forty (1440) minutes of each day to think about peace, to pray for peace, listen to music to find peace… so that this peace can be shared with others.
On the 15th of October 2018, I moved to our new Peace Centre in mainland Europe, in a house of prayer. I will be living in a beautiful place where I can lead all people of goodwill in a global peace prayer each month from the sarcophagus of the founder of the Divine Word Missionaries, St. Arnold Janssen. As a retired missionary priest, I will be spending the rest of my days praying for peace. I invite you to write to me if you have a very special intention you want me to pray for. It would be something I would gladly do, as I have all the time in the world to pray, for the rest of my life.
If you also wish to know more how to live a life of prayer, or if you wish to go on retreat to discern about a life dedicated to peace, please do not hesitate to contact us. Rosemarie Lucero and I will be truly delighted to arrange that retreat for you in our new Instruments of Peace Centre in St. Michael’s Mission House, in Steyl, Netherlands. Please click here, if you wish to contact us.
In the meantime, let me invite you
to join me praying every single day,
The prayer of Pope Francis:
“Lord, God of Peace,
hear our prayer.
Defuse the violence of our tongues and our hands.
Renew our hearts and our minds that our way of life will always be that of Peace.
Grant us the strength daily to be instruments of peace.” [Pope Francis, 08 June 2014]
I also invite you to visit our Online Chapel, where you can light a candle and entrust your intention to the prayers of the community of retired missionaries in our house, St. Michael’s Mission House in Steyl, Netherlands.
